Predict 22: Identity + UX

INSPIRATION: IDENTITY DESIGN + UX DESIGN

CONCEPT

01.

For sports fans, nothing is as simple to identify and read as a scorecard - which is where our work began. Each of the matches displayed as a card, with a scoreboard-like arrangement of information.

02.

For the logo and typography, the inspiration were regular sports channel - slick, sporty and modern. For readability, we chose among a plethora of geometric fonts, settling on dependable Gilroy.

The Challenge

Making a range of complex information be easy to understand, scan and recall. Improving readability significantly was a paramount requirement. The layout should also help keep everything clear and functional across platforms.

Score UI before redesign

The scoreboard had too many issues to describe in detail - the win prediction wasn't easy to identify, it wasn't easy to identify a correct/incorrect prediction either - two core features that weren't being met along with navigation that isn't intuitive.

New Score UI

A card layout allowed for something familiar, modern, accessible, and the corners are used to convey information in addition to the main body that holds the score and prediction.

Old Logo

The old logo had a few problems - it wasn't easy to read, didn't help the brand and was restricted to being used as a circle. Also there weren't different versions for each sport as with the new one.

New Logo

For the logo and typography, the inspiration was ESPN - slick, sporty and modern. For readability, we chose among a plethora of geometric fonts, settling on dependable Gilroy.
